Welcome back to the
Laiken and Taylor Column.
Track meets have finally
begun, and on the second
meet of the year Jalyn Larson
from Drayton qualified for
state in triple jump, and also
set the new school record!
At the following meet Paul
Tharalson from Valley-
Edinburg (but also on our
team) qualified for state in
pole vaulting and set the
meetrecord! Congratulations
to them both!
School will end for summer
break on Friday, May 17, so
until then, the older students
will be studying hard for their
final exams and tests.
From Monday, May 20-
Thursday, May 23, at 6:00-
8:30pm there will beVacation
Bible School in the Lutheran
Church on Main Street for
kids that are going into Pre-
school, all the way to going
into sixth grade. Vacation
Bible School is a whole lot
of fun where the kids get to
sing, play with their friends,
learn about Jesus, have a
snack, listen to bible stories,
and make fun crafts! So if you
have any kids from preschool
to seventh grade, send them
to VBS for a fun and great
experience!
The track kids had a meet
at Concordia on Saturday
May 4th. We'll try to write
the results next week. Also
in track news, the Pembina
County Outdoor Track meet
was changed to May 6th
due to the "wonderful" cold
weather we've had, and there
is a Junior High track meet on
Friday the 10th in Park River.
In Grafton fast pitch
softball news, the C Squad
had a tournament in Valley
City on May 4th. The got 4th
place with the scores being
(with our score first):
Grafton vs. West Fargo
1 (lost): 2-9
Grafton vs. Enderlin: won
but unsure of score
Grafton vs. Valley City
(lost): 10-12
