Anyway, looking down
the road, the forecast calls
for wet and wet followed by
a little more wet. The temps
are relatively mild for those
of you accustomed to living
in the Arctic. I haven't put
away my winter jacket yet.
Kelly's Sausage of
the Week
Normally I put the
important stuff on the
front page, but I'm a bit
discombobulated because of
all the shuffling of pages due
to the color setup.
Why all the color you
might ask? Is it Christmas
already?
You'll find your answer
on page 2. The ad will run
through the month of June
and because of it, we'll all be
privy to a bit of color.
Back to the sausage.
This week's Sausage of
the Week is Kelly's Drayton
Polish with Cheddar. This is
my number one favorite of
all his sausages. Great grilled
and on a bun.
Red River Monster?
I was down at Hasting's
Landing today and caught
rumor there is a river
monster roaming the depths
of the mighty Red. It's large
enough to bite a canoe in half
and spit out the oars. We'll be
following up on the little fella
as the summer progresses.

Meet Catherine Steele,
one of the younger members
of the Brush Bunch. The
painting shown is within
her mind and represents
a cave into which you are
looking. At this point you are
looking down and crystals
are visible as if radiating
from the opening. As the
acrylic painting evolves a
tree appears with several
birds and hearts. What will
be the finished product is
known only to Catherine
and her imagination. We can
hardly wait. Amy Phillips is
her mentor. June 4th will be
the first meeting of the new
year, #43 if your keeping
count. Our programs for the
year have been distributed,
This years tribute is to Anne
Cheatley, a great job to all
who contributed.

75-80 million-year-old fossils have recently been found in the
Pembina Gorge. At least for Mosasaurs, along with sharks, fish
vertebrae and fish scales were discovered and identified by Dr.
John Hoganason, Paleontologist with the ND Geographical Survey.
Mosasours were the most fearsome predators, which dominated
the Western interior Seaway during the Cretaceous Age. The North
Dakota Geological Survey, North Dakota Parks and Recreation
Department, and the City of Walhalla Economic Development Corp.,
are hosting a dig August 19 through August 25, 2013.
