Shown with her display at our Art Show #39. Amy was still busy setting up her display of "The Twelve Day of Christmas" consisting of Christmas Tree ornaments. (twelve of them). Amy received the Peoples Choice Award for Art for the year 2010 with her water color painting "Courting" this was our fourth year featuring peoples choice. Amy joined the Brush Bunch in 1997 and has been interested in many different forms of art. She considers herself a self taught watercolorist. She has served in several official positions with the club. Our club programs for 2010 and 2011 are ready. They are very nicely done and the cover pays tribute to one of our members Adeline Morrison. Frankie once again did a splendid job in her reflections of the last year. Amy Phillips completed the booklet with her scheduling, birthday list, phone numbers and e-mail addresses. Our upcoming meeting dates are; June 22, July 6 and July 20th from 10 AM to 4 PM. We welcome Carol Anderson who joined the Brush Bunch for the summer months. We are now meeting at the Gallery and you are welcome to stop in for a visit and coffee. They also stopped in to visit Ted and Lucielle Passa the same day. The Zoo Barwillbe hosting its First Annual Golf Tournament Saturday July 24th. ff you're interested, you should sign up early at the Zoo Bar. This is just a "heads up". Saralee Hoselton visited Linda Hoselton in Grafton the afternoon of June 8th Later that evening Saralee was among those attending the Worship Committee Meeting at the Joliette United Methodist Church. On Wednesday Richard and Gayle McConnell had lunch at Perkins in Grand Forks with Kriss McConnell. Saralee Hoselton went to Fargo June 9th where she visited Hope Hoselton and children. Saralee spent the night, and the next morning she took Hope to the airport where she boarded a plane for Memphis to attend the National PTA Convention. Saralee returned home and brought Faith, Sami and Grace with her to visit for a few days. Later that afternoon Saralee and the girls went to Park River where they attended the annual meeting of Polar Communications. Ross and Cecelia Landowski visited Steve and Ellen Marciniak during the week. Chester and Donna Kalka attended the prayer service Friday night in Pembina for Laddie Kalka. Saturday Chester Kalka, Richard and Gayle McConnell and Marvin and Clarice Mosolf attended the funeral for Laddie Kalka at the Assumption Catholic Church in Pembina. Saralee Hoselton. Faith, Sami and Grace Hoselton. Joanne Young and Doug Chertoff were among the workers who helped set up for the play "Bound for Blessing" Saturday June 12th. They also celebrated Sami's 7th birthday. Ben Tucker and Kriss McConnell had dinner with Richard and Gayle McConnell on Sunday. That evening Richard and Gayle visited Neil and Joyce Hanson of Hamilton. Marvin and Clarice Mosolf visited Amy Schumacher and Alice Vollmers at the Sunset Home in Grafton Sunday afternoon. That same afternoon Judy Stellon was among those who attended the bridal shower for Lindsey Aufenkamp at the Drayton Assembly of God Church. Steve and Ellen Marciniak were among the many guests at the home of Mylo and Ruby Dybedal in Karlstad for a pot luck family picnic on Sunday. Later that evening Marsha Pederson of Karlstad visited Steve and Ellen. 3rd Pembina County Fair Fun Dog Show The Pembina County Fair is planning for the third Pembina County Fair Fun Dog Show. The committee has put the final touches to a fun and learning time for the dog owners that will be sharing their pets and for the spectators that will come to join in the fun. The FUN is scheduled for July02, 2010, with registration to be at 3 PM and the show at 4 Pm in front of the Grand Stand. Rain could put us in another location. We stress this is to be FUN and we encourage anyone over 8 years old to age 80 to come and participate. All shapes, sizes, age and breeds of dogs will be accepted. Proof of vaccination is necessary. The animal must be on a leash or in a kennel at all times. NO dog in heat will be accepted and you must bring your own sanitation equipment. There are 11 categories : smallest dog, largest dog, longest tail, best groomed, best costume, largest paws, best handler, biggest ears, best overall retriever with 60 second time limit and you must bring your own retrieving item, best trick demonstration and the best of show. There will be a first and runner up prize in each category plus a cash prize for Best of Show. We promise treats for all dogs. The North Country Veterinary Clinic will be providing professional information on the care of small animals and Linda Socwell from Calvin, ND will be speaking on the importance of obedience for animals to be enjoyed their owners and other people in their lives. The committee looks forward to a FUN time with you and your pet.
