Drayton Homecoming Coronation Held Sunday Lisa's Imagination Emporium Has a Little Something for Everyone Pictured above are Lisa Andreen of Drayton and her mom Jan Bums. They're standing in front of Lisa's store, Lisa's Imagination Emporium located, at 720 Hill Avenue in Grafton. Lisa opened the doors in April of 2012. She has a very fine store. For real, and that's coming from a guy. I thought it was about time I got over there and gave her a tittle coverage. Zipped over to Grafton on Tuesday afternoon to visit with Lisa Andreen and check out her store, Imagination Emporium. Lisa and her husband Greg, who is the Enbridge pipeline mechanical technician for the Superior region, are from Drayton, and have lived here the past seven years. Lisa was born and raised in Grafton. She spent ten years with Grafton Drug managing their gift department and working customer relations before she decided to open her own business, in April of 2012. In Lisa's own words, "The Imagination Emporium offers shoppers an enjoyable shopping experience in a charming setting with a range of gifts for the home and hostess, gifts for baby, products for seasonal and holiday celebrations, and an expanded collection of extraordinary art and books of the highest quality that. share a message." She's exactly right. Now I would have said, it's a very nice store. That's especially complimentary coming from a guy with that Norwegian way of understating things. It's fun! The store is full of all sorts of nooks and crannies, each with its own Drayton Homecoming Coronation was held Sunday afternoon at the Drayton School Mr. Thompson served as master of ceremonies. As usual he was pretty dam good. Mackenzie Lizakowski became this year's Homecoming Queen and Ryan Woinarowicz this year's Homecoming King. That's Ryan and Mackenzie in the front row. Standing in the back row, from left to right are this year's king candidates, Cameron Llttlejohn and Grant Schumacher, last year's king Bradley Keena, last year's queen, Katelyn Twamley and this year's queen candidates Sahwnya Jacobson and Marie Perkins. A nice lunch was served following the ceremony. The Homecoming game was held Monday. Unfortunately, the Drayton-Valley/Edinburg Titans lost to Cavalier, 22-8. The game was played in Hoople. theme. Themes include kitchen, tiny tots, cabin, Fairy Garden, books and boutique .... with enough guy things and food items wisely placed throughout the store to keep him paying attention. So it's just fun to wander through. I especially liked the large decorative fishing lures and the food items including some neat bread kits and an interesting fish breading mix. Oh ya, and the "Cabin" area. However, I was a little disturbed that said she had nothing for goats. Lisa said her favorite part of the store was the section with all the "girly" things. She says she loves to pour over decorating magazines, surf for hours on pinterest, and shop till she drops. She opened the shop because She wanted to share her love of home personalization with others. Her aim is to help you make your home into something that reflects your life, your family and your heritage. A stroll through the store will tell you she has very good taste. When she shops for treasures for the store she looks for functionality. For example, according to Lisa, "Our baby gifts are sweet, soft cuddly things everyone says "ooh" and "ahh" over. Our specialty food items are delicious, easy to prepare and taste like you've been in the kitchen all day." And you know, so nicely could almost taste them as I studied the variety of items sitting neatly on the shelves. Yes, I am a foody. She says that the people are her favorite part of running a business and it really comes through. Lisa is fun and friendly and when a gaggle of customers came to shop while I was there, there was lots of laughter. I don't Continued On Page 5 So much store and so little room in the paper. Here's a shot into the Kitchen section of Imagination Emporium, featuring a wide variety of functional, yet very homey and attractive kitchen utensils and the like.
